Tom Holland has become one of the busiest actors in the past several years thanks to his high-profile role as Spider-Man in the MCU as well as in other major projects such as Uncharted and Cherry where he serves as the lead for both.

A lot of the actor's fans are looking forward to seeing more of him in the future, especially in the fourth Spider-Man film that is currently in the works. The question now is when can we see the next movie or TV show starring Holland? As it turns out, we might have to wait a little longer.

In a recent interview with Extra TV (via The Direct), Holland revealed that he is taking a year-off break from acting. He cited his recent work in the TV series The Crowded Room and its difficulty as the main reason why he decided to take a break.

"Yeah, it was a tough time, for sure. We were exploring certain emotions that I have definitely never experienced before. And then on top of that, being a producer, dealing with the day-to-day problems that come with any film set, just added that extra level of pressure," he said.

"But I really enjoyed it. I loved the learning curve of becoming a producer. I’m no stranger to hard work. I’ve always sort of lived by this idea that hard work is good work."

The Spider-Man actor also shared that his work on his new series "break" him which led to the necessity for him to go on time off from acting, but he is also looking forward to seeing the audience's response to his show.

He continued, "But then again, the show did break me. There did come a time where I was sort of like, ‘I need to have a break.’ I disappeared. I went to Mexico for a week and had some time on a beach and lay low."

"And I’m now taking a year off, and that is a result of how difficult this show was… I am excited to see how it turns out and I feel like our hard work wasn’t in vain."

Considering his schedule in the last couple of years and the hard work and exhaustion of his profession, we can say that he really deserves to take a break and enjoy his time off and it's only for a year so we will still be seeing him on the screen again in the near future.

Besides the fourth Spider-Man movie, he is also attached to star in a Fred Astaire biopic which is also in development and is likely to begin filming next year.
