We all know the amount of work Marvel actors put in just to get into shape for their respective roles but long before the so-called "superhero" diet and workout guys like Chris Hemsworth made famous became a thing, the star of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy Tobey Maguire apparently went through some pretty intense measures in order to prepare his body for the part.

Maguire's co-star Elizabeth Banks, who plays J. Jonah Jameson's personal secretary Betty Brant in the trilogy was a witness to Tobey's hard work and dedication on set and according to her, she'd do everything in her power just to lure the actor into breaking his lifestyle.

Speaking with Variety, Banks recalled one of her favorite moments while filming the original Spider-Man film and it's one where she offended Maguire who was a vegan at that time. She shares: "Tobey was on a really strict diet -- he was vegan or something before that was a big lifestyle choice. I think he was just trying to be as fit as possible, obviously. And they brought In-N-Out Burger to the set one day."

Banks continued: "We started rehearsing the scene, and I was still eating my burger. And Tobey was pretty offended that I was just like, 'I'm just gonna eat this burger in front of you that you're not allowed to have for many reasons.' I teased him about that. And he teased me."

In other news, Maguire's triumphant return as "Peter 2" in Spider-Man: No Way Home rekindled the fandom's desire to see the canned Spider-Man 4 from Sam Raimi. Obviously, it's still hard to tell whether or not it's still possible at this rate but with the whole multiverse thing going on in the MCU, there might actually be a chance that we'll finally see it come to fruition.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available on digital.
