Tom Holland has yet to return to the MCU, but fans shouldn't worry much longer. According to a recent report, Spider-Man 4 is reportedly filming sooner than we thought! Here's when we could expect the fourth Spider-flick to swing onto the big screens.
Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 Reportedly Stuck Between Avengers Movies
It's been a long time coming for the MCU Spider-Man to return to theaters, let alone the franchise.
Considering that the last movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, pretty much ended the life Peter Parker built for himself, a fourth flick was a shoo-in to come to fruition. But what exactly is taking it so long to get here?
News about a fourth Spider-Man flick came about in August 2022, when Sony Pictures executive Amy Pascal confirmed it was in development.
However, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike halted the project, along with the rest of Hollywood.
Spider-Man 4 was initially dated to drop on June 27, 2025, however, given the timeline of production, it was nearly impossible to keep the schedule. Well, here's what the recent report said about the fourth flick's actual progress.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman's Patreon, Spider-Man 4 won't be keeping fans on their toes anymore, as it will be slated to release between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
"As expected, Spider-Man 4 will now film next year and is slated to release [in] July 2026," Richtman wrote, "[Since it is] between Doomsday and Secret Wars, yes, this is very likely gonna be another multiverse movie."
The Multiverse bit is not that surprising, especially with Peter Parker's prior involvement with it with Doctor Strange, after all.
Besides, if the fourth flick were to bring back MJ, Ned, Happy, and Doctor Strange's memories about Spider-Man, then they're going to need the Multiverse's help in somewhat undoing the spell minus the consequences the web-slinger faced in No Way Home.

As of writing, Spider-Man 4 will reportedly return to theaters in July 2026.
