The entire Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom showed its collective force when Spider-Man: No Way Home finally unveiled its long-awaited trailer and to say that it broke the internet is an absolute understatement. Unsurprisingly, the trailer for the upcoming third joint venture between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures shattered a previous record held by one of the biggest films of all time Avengers: Endgame.

We reported yesterday that Spider-Man: No Way Home's trailer blew Endgame's 24-hour record out of the water, amassing a whopping 355.5 million trailer views in the first 24 hours of its release. Endgame's previous record was an incredible feat in its own right but Spidey pretty much proved that the hype surrounding his forthcoming film is quite immense.

Following the news, the franchise's lead star Tom Holland took to social media to express his astonishment after learning that his standalone Spider-Man film beat another MCU flick he was also a part of. In his latest Instagram story update, the British actor extended his gratitude to the fans who made the record happen. Check it out here:

Of course, that's just the tip of the iceberg and I'm pretty sure Spider-Man: No Way Home isn't done delivering the hype to fans. Now, it'll be interesting to see if the film will actually deliver at the box office given the current pandemic situation the world is experiencing, but could you imagine if it actually topples Avatar and becomes the highest-grossing film of all time? I guess we'll have to wait until December and hopefully, things are a lot better by that time.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in cinemas on December 17, 2021.
