Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was home to tons of surprises and major callbacks to various Spider-Man material both past and present but it still left many wanting to see more.
Sony's latest blockbuster, which already earned over $221 million worldwide cleverly mashes together elements of animation and live-action which work seamlessly and not in a Space Jam kind of weird.
Considering the concept was well received by fans, it looks like the film's upcoming follow-up, Beyond the Spider-Verse, could see more live-action cameos that will surely blow everyone away.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Rumored to Bring Back Bryce Dallas Howard and Emma Stone
According to Giant Freakin Robot, the third Spider-Verse film which has reportedly been pushed back to 2025 is set to mark the respective returns of Bryce Dallas Howard and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker's storied love interest.
Turns out, the plan calls for both Howard and Stone to appear as their live-action counterparts instead of just doing voice work for the follow-up. Does this mean Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could also show up in the film? One can hope.
Bryce Dallas Howard only made one appearance as Gwen in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, with her brief performance leaving nothing to be desired, whereas Emma Stone starred in Sony's shortlived The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, playing a more substantial part.

As it stands, Sony Pictures has yet to confirm anything so it's still best to temper your expectations. It's worth mentioning though that the creative minds behind the film confirmed plans to feature more live-action appearances in Across the Spider-Verse but the idea ultimately didn't work out.
In a recent interview with Variety, co-director Justin K. Thompson confirmed that they had "even bigger ambitions" that didn't come to fruition. Kemp Powers added: "There were times when we had huge live-action sequences in the film, and it just turned into a bad joke. Even we didn’t like it anymore."
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is screening in cinemas everywhere.
