Princess Diana's fans will be delighted to know that there's a new movie centered on the late royal.

Spencer starring Kristen Stewart is not true to life. Instead, it reimagines what Princess Diana experienced when she stayed at Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham Estate for three days in 1991.

What is the plot for Spencer?

Spencer follows the life of Princess Diana as she struggles with acceptance as the newest member of the royal family.

Prior to her marriage to Prince Charles, the Princess of Wales led a normal life. But everything changed when she became the future queen of Britain.

Princess Diana was no longer able to enjoy the things that she used to do because she's always under intense media scrutiny. She couldn't also go anywhere she wanted because the paparazzi are always stalking her.

Since she still didn't know the ins and outs of being a royal, Princess Diana surprised the queen when she arrived at Sandringham late.

During the Christmas festivities of 1991 in Sandringham, Princess Diana psyched herself that she would only be with the royals for three days. However, it's obvious that the days dragged a little too long and it also resulted in more problems between her and Prince Charles.

While speaking with Deadline, director Pablo Larrain also explained the plot for Spencer.

"Diana is such a powerful icon, where millions and millions of people, not just women, but many people around the world felt empathy toward her in her life. We decided to get into a story about identity, and around how a woman decides somehow, not to be the queen. She's a woman who, in the journey of the movie, decides and realizes that she wants to be the woman she was before she met Charles," he said.

Who are the cast members of Spencer?

Other than Princess Diana (Kristen Stewart), Prince Charles (Jack Farthing), and Queen Elizabeth (Stella Gonet), several other members of the royal family are also featured in Spencer.

Olga Hellsing will play Sarah Ferguson, Richard Sammel will portray the late Prince Philip, Elizabeth Berrington will play Princess Anne, Niklas Kohrt will portray Prince Andrew, and Thomas Douglas will play the role of John Spencer.

Prince William and Prince Harry will also be portrayed but two young actors in the film.

What does Kristen Stewart have to say about Spencer?

Neon and Topic Studios just dropped a trailer for Spencer. And it features Stewart giving life to Princess Diana.

Stewart is an American actress, and she had to learn Princess Diana's accent to make her portrayal realistic.

Last year, Stewart told InStyle that learning Princess Diana's accent was intimidating.

"We don't start shooting until mid-January. The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it's so, so distinct and particular. I'm working on it now and already have my dialect coach," she said.

And it seems that Twilight star's efforts to learn Princess Diana's accent for Spencer paid off. After all, Variety said that Stewart nailed the late royal's British accent in the trailer.

Stewart also said that she did her own research to get to know Princess Diana better before portraying her for the cameras.

"In terms of research, I've gotten through two-and-a-half biographies, and I'm finishing all the material before I actually go make the movie. It's one of the saddest stories to exist ever, and I don't want to just play Diana — I want to know her implicitly. I haven't been this excited about playing a part, by the way, in so long," she said.

Where to watch the trailer for Spencer?

Neon and Topic Studios just dropped the official trailer for Spencer on YouTube this week.

The over two-minute clip opens with Princess Diana driving herself to Sandringham and upsetting the senior royals because she's late for the Christmas festivities.

When she arrived at the queen's estate, she was welcomed by Prince William and Prince Harry. Prince Charles is heard saying that the royals are gathered inside the Drawing Room, and they are waiting for her.

In one of the scenes, the royals are having a Christmas meal together, and Princess Diana looks uncomfortable and unhappy. Prince Charles gives her a side glance but doesn't say anything.

Another scene shows a worried Prince William asking Princess Diana why she looks so sad when it's the holidays.

Princess Diana breaks down in tears while being photographed by the paparazzi in another scene. But Prince Charles tells her that they just want to take her photos.

The heir to the throne also tells his wife that she should do as the royals do for the good of the country. This statement enrages the Princess of Wales because it became evident that the country comes first before her in Prince Charles' eyes.

But perhaps the most cryptic moment from the trailer comes when Princess Diana asks her male companion if the royals would kill her.

Princess Diana passed away on Aug. 31, 1997, following a tragic car crash in Paris, France.
