Spawn Movie Will Keep Low Budget After Todd Mcfarlane and Actors Agree Not To Get Paid

In a fairly interesting move, the low budget for the R-Rated Spawn reboot will not be paying creator Todd Mcfarlane or its lead actors. This isn't the studio being unfair, but the people in question agreeing to the settlement for the sake of the movie. Apparently, the movie was done so that the budget can be maximized to its full potential, which is admirable, to say the least.

Director Jason Blum revealed this fascinating tidbit during an interview with Comingsoon. Here is what he had to say about the decision:

"One of the things is we're keeping the scope of the script relatively contained, so that's the biggest way. I think the other way is he and I aren't paying ourselves any money out of the budget nor will any of the actors, so that's another way. We're using our usual tricks!"

While they won't be getting paid through the budget, it's doubtful that no one will be getting paid. There's a good chance that the actors, Blum, and McFarlane will get a good percentage of the movie's earnings. Of course, this is mindless speculation, but nobody works for free.

McFarlane has described Spawn as a low-budget superhero movie, with the titular character playing a Jaws-like role. Unlike the horrible Spawn film from the mid-90's, this version of the anti-hero will not be the lead. Like the shark from Jaws, he will only appear at the opportunity to make the film worthwhile.

No word on when the Spawn movie will be coming out. As of this writing, the movie does not have a release window.
