Space Jam 2 to Begin Filming in June

After years of development hell, it looks like the next Space Jam film is finally moving forward. Lebron James is expected to lead the film, and we may have a date or the start of production already.

According to Discussing Film, the Space Jam reboot is set to start production on June 17. This hasn't been officially confirmed by WB yet, but it does fit into the timeline very well. The NBA Finals are set to take place sometime in June, and James is expected to play. With the Finals out of the way, he can be free to goof off with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

A June start is also set to make sense seeing that James will also have to go back to training before the year ends to prepare for the next season of basketball.

Until we get anything official with the studio, we should just take this info with a grain of salt. I just think a lot of people would want an update on this new Space Jam seeing that it was one of the biggest films in the 90s. Sure it didn't age that well, but a lot of kids remembered just how amazing it was to watch Michael Jordan shooting hoops with the Tune Squad.

The Space Jam reboot has newcomer Terrence Nance as director and will have Black Panther helmer Ryan Coogler attached as producer. Lebron James is set to star.

No release date has been announced for Space Jam 2.
