Sophie Turner Wants to Return as X-Men’s Jean Grey Despite Marvel Studios Plans

X-Men: Dark Phoenix might have been a commercial and critical disaster for 21st Century Fox, however, it seems like Jean Grey star Sophie Turner would love to reprise the role for Marvel.

While Marvel has yet to announce its plans for the X-Men now that Disney's completed its Fox acquisition, Turner is certain that she would want to return as Jean Grey with the same cast and have the same experience playing Jean Grey.

Speaking in an interview with Variety about her new Quibi series Survive, the Game of Thrones alum was asked whether there would be any chance of her reprising her role as Jean Grey of the X-Men film franchise.

Despite the backlash and the negativity surrounding Dark Phoenix, Turner seems eager to return to the world of the mutants.

"I don't even know what the deal is, whether Disney wants to continue on the ‘X-Men' journey [or not]," the actress told the entertainment news outlet, "But I'd always be down to go back to that character and that cast and that experience. We had just the best time on those movies. I would kill to go back."

It's surprising to hear that Turner would want to relive the experience.

Dark Phoenix had a terrible production, suffering from delays and major reshoots. Not only that, but the film was a major flop. The movie did terribly at the box office and was heavily criticized by fans and critics. Perhaps Turner would be better off saying that she'd like to redo the film, this time under the guidance of Marvel Studios.
