Sophie Turner Doesn't Compare X-Men: Dark Phoenix's Jean Grey to Daenerys, Even Though She Should

Game of Thrones has ended and fans have mixed feelings about its final season, with many feeling that the same will be said for Fox's X-Men: Dark Phoenix. While both forms of media couldn't be more different, they do have a couple of similarities; a woman with power going crazy and destroying everything around her. Sophie Turner didn't play that character in Game of Thrones but will portray her in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Interestingly enough, during an interview with HBO the actress was asked about the similarities between Jean Grey and Sansa Stark. Aside from the fact that both characters are portrayed by Turner and are redheads, fans can't think about what these two have in common but Turner does have a thoughtful answer.

Here's what Turner had to say:

"I'm always drawn to strong, independent women and Sansa and Jean are both that. They eventually use all of these terrible things that happened to them and they become incredibly strong women."

The answer above seems to suggest that Jean will have a happy ending, though anyone who has read The Dark Phoenix Saga knows that won't be happening. Granted, the movie could give her a happier ending, maybe even the one Chris Claremont and John Byrne wanted for her, but we'll have to wait and see.

Until anything is revealed, it feels like this version of Jean has more in common with Daenerys than Sansa.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix comes out on June 6, 2019.
