Game of Thrones Fan Raises Money To Campaign For Season 8 Remake Via A Plane Banner

Over one million Game of Thrones fans want Season 8 remade, but one particular fan, with the help of a handful more, took their frustrations to the skies.

A man named Ryan Geddes had a plane fly over Seattle's downtown for half an hour with a banner that reads "SOMEONE REWRITE GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8 PLZ."

Geddes, who describes himself as "casual" fan after binging the show only early this year, was able to make this happen via a GoFundMe petition last May 16. He set a goal of $698, the exact price for 15 minutes of flight time. Seventeen people donated a few days after the campaign went live.

"I made this just to send to a couple friends as a joke, not really thinking it would go anywhere, and then we hit our limit [for funding]," Geddes revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, adding that it is "a thousand times funnier" than he expected. Check it out in action below:

Additional banners were planned just in case more donations came in. These messages are more hilarious as they get into more specific events in Game of Thrones Season 8 that they deemed weird, awful, questionable, and nonsensical. Some of the messages were"

"WHY DID YOU PUT THE TREBUCHETS IN FRONT OF WINTERFELL"

"IF BRAN NO LONGER HAS JURISDICTION OVER THE NIGHTS WATCH WHY IS SANSA ENFORCING JON'S BANISHMENT"
"DID THEY COSTUME EURON GREYJOY IN THE ZARA CLEARANCE AISLE?"
"WHY DID SCORPIONS GO FROM OVERPOWERED TO USELESS IN ONE EPISODE"
"WHAT IS STOPPING DORNE AND THE IRON ISLANDS FROM SECEDING NOW THAT THE UNSULLIED AND DOTHRAKI HAVE LEFT?"

"NONE OF THE CHARACTERS DECISIONS MAKE SENSE ANY MORE MAKE IT STOP PLEASE"

"I STILL DON'T KNOW WHO THE NIGHT KING IS AND I'M STRUGGLING TO FIND AN APPROPRIATE MEDIUM TO EXPRESS MY FRUSTRATION AND DESPAIR"

Geddes took advantage of his "15 minutes of stupid internet fame" to encourage the backers of the petition to donate to Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke's Same You charity to help survivors of strokes and brain injuries.

As for the chance of Game of Thrones Season 8 ever getting remade, it's probably not going to happen, but attempts like this could certainly fans holding out hope.
