Sony Releases Spider-Verse Spider-Ham Animated Short Online

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a big hit when it released in cinemas last year. Not only was the film well-received by fans and by critics, but the animated comic book movie also made it big the awards circuit, winning the Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards, at the 46th Annie Awards, as well as the 76th Golden Globe Awards.

Now, it looks like Sony has officially released Caught in a Ham, the Spider-Ham animated short that was included in the home video release of Into the Spider-Verse. The Caught in a Ham animated short runs is about four minutes long and uses the same classic animation style as classic cartoons from the ‘80s.

Caught in a Ham has John Mulaney returning to voice Peter Porker, the delightful Spider-Ham that fans came to love in Into the Spider-Verse. In the video, Spider-Ham is swinging around New York with a hotdog bun only to find kidnapped by a mad scientist. The cockroach scientist is pretty cartoony, getting distracted while Spider-Ham argues with him about evading capture.

It's pretty fun seeing more of Spider-Ham online. The character was an easy fan-favorite in Into the Spider-Verse. Not only did Peter Porker provide comic relief, but he was also a pretty great help in the fight to save the multiverse. Now, after appearing in Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Ham continues to introduce light puns in an annual and upcoming Marvel Comics miniseries.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is available on Digital HD, Ultra HD, 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
