Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' partnership has been nothing short of fruitful and with the multiverse coming into play, it would be safe to assume that the alliance between the two production companies will continue after Spider-Man: No Way Home despite what actor Tom Holland would like you to believe. However, a new report suggests that the studios aren't on the same page as of late and it's reportedly the main reason why the next trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe offering has been delayed.
Of course, many of you know about the ongoing rumors about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield showing up in the film. Both parties have tried their best to deny their involvement in No Way Home for the longest time but it looks like Sony is ready to deliver the goods. According to a scoop from CinemaBlend's Sean O'Connell, Sony and Marvel are clashing over the next trailer release because of them.
In a recent tweet, O'Connell said that one studio wants to show "Them" (Tobey and Andrew) in the next trailer while the other doesn't seem keen about revealing it just yet.
He didn't go into detail about which studio wants to include Maguire and Garfield in the teaser and which one is against the idea but insider Grace Randolph tweeted out that it's Kevin Feige who wants to keep things under wraps.

I totally get where Feige is coming from and it makes a lot of sense from a fan standpoint. If anything, he probably thinks that it would be best for fans to witness Tobey and Andrew's returns to be seen on the film itself to keep the element of surprise going. However, I don't think a trailer appearance from both actors would kill the excitement and I'm pretty sure it'll only grow bigger.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas on December 17, 2021.
