Sonic the Hedgehog is Now Available on Digital Home Media

Sonic, he can really move. Sonic, he's got an attitude. Sonic, he's the fastest thing aliiiiiive! And his first-ever live-action movie is now available for everyone to watch. Due to the Coronavirus preventing people from leaving their homes (sane people anyway…), Paramount Pictures has decided to do the smart thing by releasing Sonic the Hedgehog on digital services now so that families have something to watch.

The movie is currently priced at $19.99 from most online retailers, with the 4K version being a bit pricier at $24.99. These are standard movie prices when it comes to digital releases and it will be interesting to see what kind of extras this version comes with. We're sure that the upcoming physical release will have cooler extras.

Despite some controversy about the character's design, at least until he got a redesign, the film ended up being a huge hit with fans and critics. While the movie didn't directly follow any of the stories from the character's video games, most people felt it was a solid enough family film that anyone can enjoy. In short, it was a harmless movie and that's as good as it gets when it comes to Hollywood's video game adaptations.

It's going to take a while before Sonic the Hedgehog will be coming to physical media, with most of us questioning if the original May 19 Blu-Ray date is still valid. Hopefully, things will be a lot better by then since this epidemic has sucked the fun out of everything. Sonic the Hedgehog is now available on digital services.
