Netflix's newest K-drama series, A Killer Paradox, is now available to watch. The action series comes with pretty intense fight scenes and a storyline that will hook you. One of the interesting characters to look forward to is played by Son Suk-Ku in A Killer Paradox. Let's talk about his character in more detail.
Who is Son Suk-Ku?
Son Suk-Ku is a Korean actor born on February 7, 1983. His family moved to Canada and the US, which explains why he can speak English fluently.
Before becoming an actor, he dreamed of becoming a documentary director. This led him to study at the School of Art Institute of Chicago and major in visual arts and film.
When he first landed the role in A Killer Paradox, he admitted that he didn't know much about the webtoon since his generation preferred to read comic books.
But he was told that the webtoon was legendary, which is why he started to read it too.
Who Does Son Suk-Ku Play in A Killer Paradox?
The role of Son Suk-Ku in A Killer Paradox is Detective Jang Nam-Gam, the lead investigator who is looking for the person behind a series of murders that appear to be coincidental.
He meets Lee Tang (played by Choi Woo-Shik), whom he suspects may have had something to do with the first murder in the series. But since everything seems circumstantial, he lets Tang go.
As the Kdrama progresses, however, his suspicions of Tang grow and he seems to be in pursuit of him.
Detective Jang is a headstrong character in the series. He is determined to catch the bad guys and he will stop at nothing to uphold the law.
Since he has been a detective for years, he continues to feel tormented after a killer got loose. The killer turns out to be someone they worked with at the station: an ex-cop. What's worse is that this person is responsible for his father's ailing condition.
But as a cop, himself, there are times when Jang crosses the line. Although we're convinced he is a good cop, there are times we can't help but suspect him of being a bad one too.
The twist ending, however, is definitely something to look out for.
Where You Might Have Seen Him Before
You might recognize Son Suk-Ku in his other films and Kdramas. But it's hard to identify him since he grew a beard specifically for A Killer Paradox.
Suk-Ku played a detective in another Kdrama. But as Suk-Ku says, the two characters are different, except for the profession they both share.
His other Kdramas include My Liberation Notes, D.P. seasons 1 and 2, The Roundup, and Nothing Serious.
Catch Suk-Ku in A Killer Paradox, which is now airing on Netflix.
