Son Na Eun made it to the headlines after receiving mixed reactions regarding her appearance in JTBC’s Agency.
Starring Lee Bo Young, Jo Sung Ha Han Joon Woo, and Jeon Hye Jin as the main characters, the life drama has been getting major buzz by continuing its streak of soaring viewership ratings in every episode.
Viewership was drawn to every episode, especially with the interesting plot and cast lineup; however, Son Na Eun received negative feedback regarding her performance.
Son Na Eun Criticized for Her ‘Poor’ Acting Skills in Agency
In a report cited by a media outlet, viewers were not impressed with how the singer-actress portrayed her role of chaebol heiress Kang Han Na, the VC Group family’s youngest daughter and the company’s Planning Director of Social Media.
As seen in Agency episode 4, aired on January 15, Kang Han Na is on her first day as VC’s Planning Director of Social Media and was welcomed by the whole company including employees.
Unlike Go Ah In, played by Lee Bo Young, whose character has to work hard despite being underprivileged to climb to the top, the heiress had a different life and made everything easy for her including her work.
During their face-to-face with the VC head Go Ah In, viewers saw “awkwardness” in her acting.
In an article, the audience felt that Son Na Eun acted “unnaturally” around the veteran actress.
With this, viewers took to social media and mentioned their disappointment to the singer-actress, pointing out that she “really needs to improve” and “learn to act more.”
On the other hand, some mentioned that it might be because she is acting alongside the award-winning actress and are looking forward to seeing her improvement in the remaining episodes.
To recall, the JTBC series is not her first appearance in K-drama.
Although she started her career as a member of the girl group Apink, Son Na Eun ventures into acting and had her first K-drama in 2012 for the series Salamander Guru and the Gang, playing a cameo role in episode 4.

From then on, she appeared as supporting characters in Childless Comfort, Twenty Again, and had her first lead role in 2016 for tvN’s Cinderella and the Four Knights.
With this, it means that Son Na Eun has been acting for almost 10 years, and yet there are still some viewers who think that she needs to work on her acting skills.

As mentioned, she has been in the industry for a decade and has appeared in various K-dramas.
Among Son Na Eun’s famous K-dramas include Twenty Again where she played the role of Oh Hye Mi.
The rom-com series stars Choi Ji Woo, Lee Sang Yoon Choi Won Young, directed by Kim Hyung Shik of About Time and Prince Coffee Lab.
Adding to the list of Son Na Eun’s drama list is the medical fantasy K-drama Ghost Doctor with Kim Bum and RAIN.
