Solo Director Ron Howard Isn't Sure About Directing an Episode of The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian was a success for a multitude of reasons. It managed to give us a dark and gritty setting in the same universe where wizards use colored swords to decapitate people while preaching about peace. Knowing that a number of talented directors also worked on them helped out a lot, with episodes from Taika Waititi, Jon Favreau, and Bryce Dallas Howard giving fans varied content that entertained differently.

With Bryce Dallas Howard managing to give us a winner of an episode, some fans have wondered about what her dad, Ron Howard, could do with The Mandalorian. Even though it bombed, Solo: A Star Wars Story did end up being a solid spin-off that has since gained a cult following. Unfortunately, speaking with Collider, Howard said that he's too busy with other projects with Imagine Entertainment.

"Even the Solo situation, as much as I do love Star Wars and all things galaxy, Imagine is so dynamic and there's so much going on with Imagine Entertainment and so many creative opportunities that I don't really have the time, as much fun as it would be, to do something like that."

Fans are still waiting for The Mandalorian Season 2, though that will probably take a while. Hopefully, they get more talented directors to work on these episodes since variety did make this show a quality watch. It's a shame that Ron Howard can't work on The Mandalorian anytime soon but things can always change.

The Mandalorian can be streamed on Disney+ while Solo: A Star Wars Story is now available on Blu-ray.
