May 2018 saw the release of the second standalone Star Wars spinoff titled Solo, which follows the adventures of Alden Ehrenreich's young Han Solo. Unfortunately, it had a poor performance in the box office but that doesn't stop some fans who are looking forward to seeing a sequel to the feature. However, co-writer Jon Kasdan casts doubts on the possibility.

A fan recently asked Kasdan on Twitter if there are any updates with regards to a Solo sequel. The writer's response would be disappointing for some, saying that he doesn't think anyone is "pursuing a Solo sequel at the moment." Kasdan thinks a feature at this time "would be a tough sell" and that the Star Wars slate is "pretty packed." You can check out their exchange below.

Although there isn't likely a Solo 2 to be released in the near future, Kasdan pointed out that he is looking forward to the Star Wars shows. Disney+ is pretty much focused on the franchise's future in television, with a second season of The Mandalorian to arrive this October, as well as a Cassian Andor and an Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Still, some fans are holding out hope. Though the movie wasn't a box office success, there's still a portion of the Star Wars fandom that's looking forward to seeing a Solo sequel in the future, or maybe even a show following more of the character's adventures.

Right now, it seems like Disney's priority for the franchise is its shows so it's safe to say that there won't be a Solo feature in the works to be released anytime soon.
