Solo: A Star Wars Story Director Heaps Praise On The Last Jedi

It looks like Solo: A Star Wars Story director Ron Howard pretty much enjoyed watching Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The filmmaker might have been busy working on Solo's post-production, however, the director decided to take some time off from his busy schedule to check out Lucasfilm's latest sequel trilogy installment.

Taking to Twitter, Howard had nothing but great things to say about The Last Jedi, saying that the audience that he and his family saw the film with cheered and applauded the film. The filmmaker also congratulated Johnson, as well as the film's cast and crew.

Still, while Howard enjoyed the film, there are a number of Star Wars fans who didn't really enjoy the boldness of The Last Jedi. Though some loved that the film pushed the limits of the Star Wars franchise, some didn't really appreciate that Johnson had shot down everyone's expectations for Rey and her parentage, or that the director had turned Luke Skywalker into a jaded and flawed Jedi.

Coming on the heels of the backlash of The Force Awakens which many believed to be a play-safe rehash of A New Hope, one would think that more fans would enjoy the fresh new direction of The Last Jedi, however, it seems like some aren't too pleased by the film's deviation.
