Solo: A Star Wars Story Concept Art Has Chewbacca Fighting an Ewok

If you love your Star Wars lore, you'll know that Solo: A Star Wars Story was filled to the brim with Easter Eggs and references to the expanded universe. As it turns out, the film almost had a scene where Chewbacca goes off on a feral Ewok, and Lucasfilm's Phils Szostak has shared the concept art.

Check it out:

What's interesting is, the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi were originally planned as Wookiees, but as the story evolved, they were turned into a short, hairy species with primitive weapons. The Wookiees, on the other hand, are actually very good with technology, and Lucas got to have them go to war against droids in Revenge of the Sith.

Going back to Solo though, it would have been fun to see Chewie go up against an Ewok, seeing that Ewoks were basically ripoffs of Wookiees. Even their names sound almost similar: E-wok, wok-E, Wookiee.

For now, we don't know when we're going to see Han Solo again, but fans are still campaigning to #MakeSolo2Happen online. Chewbacca is a different story though, as he's set to come back with Leia and Lando Calrissian in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which comes out later this year.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker when it hits theaters Dec. 20.
