So Ji Sub is making a huge comeback in four years with the MBC drama, Doctor Lawyer.
Before becoming an actor, So Ji Sub famously became a professional swimmer who bagged a bronze medal at the Korean National Games. He also tried modeling after being inspired by hip-hop star, Kim Sung Jae.
Following his collaboration with 292513=STORM, he finally debuted in the sitcom Three Guys and Three Girls and drama Model. From there, he scored more roles until he constantly got the lead role.
Among his projects include Thousands Years of Love, What Happened in Bali, I’m Sorry I Love You, Sophie’s Revenge, Always, and Oh My Venus, to name a few.
After four years, the South Korean actor officially made a comeback in the upcoming MBC drama, Doctor Lawyer.
So Ji Sub Explains What Led Him to Doctor Lawyer
The upcoming MBC drama tells the story of a genius surgeon who becomes a medical malpractice lawyer following a rigged surgery. He meets a prosecutor who loses her only family and lover who dies during that procedure.
So Ji Sub plays the lead role of medical malpractice lawyer, Han Yi Han.
As for why he chose the drama, the actor said that the title caught his attention.

“Like the title of the drama, the unique story about a ‘doctor-turned-lawyer’ was interesting. I chose this project because it is one where I can experience both medical and legal dramas, so I think I’ll be able to show various aspects as an actor,” he said.
So Ji Sub works with Im Soo Hyang and Shin Sung Rok in the series.
So Ji Sub Describes His Character, Han Yi Han
While the title and storyline already caught his eyes, the actor became more interested after meeting his character.
He noted that the rigged operation caused the ace doctor to work harder and become a medical malpractice lawyer. Although Han Yi Han is both a doctor and lawyer, the character is about to face different situations that will highlight his emotions and goals.
The actor made the viewers excited by saying that he would show his diverse charms through one character in one drama.
Doctor Lawyer will release its first episode on June 3.
