So Ji Sub’s Instagram Displays His Debut as Model

On September 5, the renowned Hallyu actor surprised fans with his first social media account.

The 44-year-old star flaunted the first project that he did as a model. It was for a casual clothing brand’s winter collection as the actor dons what seems like a ski outfit.

What caught the netizens the most is So Ji Sub’s Instagram caption that reads “This was the beginning…”

As of this writing, his IG account has garnered 36K likes and thousands of likes and comments welcoming the actor on Instagram.

As mentioned in the comments section, fans were thrilled that the actor would update them on his activities on and off the screen.

Prior to So Ji Sub’s social media, the Oh My Venus star has been updating his followers through his agency’s official Instagram.

Interestingly, his Instagram handle is a homage to his talent label.

According to Soompi, his IG account “soganzi_51,” is a combination of his nickname “So Ganzi” with “ganzi” meaning “cool” in Korean and “51” for his agency, 51K Entertainment.

So Ji Sub is among the sought-after male leads in K-dramaland. With his versatility and impressive performance, viewers are easily drawn to his characters.

His breakthrough was playing Park Chul Woong in the 2002 K-drama Glass Slippers. However, he gained massive popularity after joining the star-studded cast of What Happened in Bali with Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung.

Korean Actors Who Recently Launched their Instagram Accounts

Apart from So Ji Sub a slew of veteran stars and A-listers joined the bandwagon and created their personal Instagram account.

At the height of Squid Game mania, lead stars Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo opened their personal social media to communicate to their international fans.

It was Lee Jung Jae who first kicked off his new account along with a selfie post.

In one interview, he revealed that it was Jung Ho Yeon who influenced him to create an Instagram.

Interestingly, it was then followed by his co-star Park Hae Soo who wrote "I also participated, this is Park Hae Soo” on his first IG post.

Almost a year after opening their official IG accounts, Lee Jung Jae currently has 5 million followers while his fellow lead star, Park Hae Soo has 2.6 million followers.
