In the conclusion of the first cour, our still nameless spider heroine had to face off against the Earth Dragon, Araba. It wasn't an easy fight though because Araba was packing a secret weapon!

Originally a light novel series written by Okina Baba and illustrated by Tsukasa Kiryu, this series is still going strong in Japan with 14 volumes printed as of January 2021. The novels are also being released in English by Yen Press, who have reached the 11 volume mark as of March 2021.

The anime adaptation began airing in January 2021 after being delayed from a 2020 premiere. The animation is produced by studio Millepensee, with Shin Itagaki serving as the director. They are working off scripts overseen by the original creator Okina Baba and Yuichiro Momose. Crunchyroll has been simulcasting the series from the beginning and will continue to do so until the end of the first season.

So I'm a Spider, So What? seems like a cute fantasy isekai that I'm kicking myself for not getting around to watching sooner. Sometimes real life impedes being able to enjoy something though, and you can't hang your head in shame about that. Regardless, for those in the same boat as me, we have two weeks to get caught up before the second half begins.
