It looks like the Snowpiercer TV series had to deal with yet another hurdle. The highly anticipated show has just been moved back to TNT after being switched to TBS. Nevertheless, the new teaser shows us just what happened when the world ended.

The animated trailer was unveiled at New York Comic-Con 2019 and it features the voice of Daveed Diggs' Layton Wells narrating the end of the world. It all started when the weather changed. "The deniers knew why but they still doomed us with their lies," he says, adding that war made the planet even hotter to the point that all the ice melted. This is when the scientists "tried to cool the Earth to reverse the damage they had sown."

Unfortunately, things didn't quite work out. "Instead, they froze her to the core," Layton says. At this point, we already know that "the visionary Mr. Wilford" had created Snowpiercer as the final means of survival for the wealthy and useful. But what about the rest of the planet? They had to take matters into their own hands.

The teaser is a major treat for fans of the graphic novel Le Transperceneige on which the series and Bong Joon-ho's 2013 film are based. Let's just hope that the move to TNT confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter is a final one and we can finally expect to see the show in 2020.

The series was developed by Josh Friedman and also stars Jennifer Connelly. Although Snowpiercer has not yet been given an official release date, it is set to air on TNT in Summer 2020.
