Snowpiercer TV Series Gets New Trailer & Release Date

After a long and rought journey to the small screen, TNT's Snowpiercer TV series finally gets a premiere date. During TNT's presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour, the network confirmed that Snowpiercer will premiere on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at 9/8c. The news comes nearly a decade after the post-apocalyptic series, which is based from the graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, was first being developed for television.There's also a new trailer for the series, which you can watch above.

The cast of the Snowpiercer TV series is set to include Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Jennifer Connelly (Top Gun: Maverick), Sean Bean (Game of Thrones), Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha), Rowan Blanchard (A Wrinkle in Time, Girl Meets World), and Alison Wright (The Americans). Orphan Black co-creator Graeme Manson is showrunning the new series.

Le Trasperceneige was adapted into a Snowpiercer film by Bong Joon Ho in 2013, and it starred Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, and Octavia Spencer.

I love the Snowpiercer film, and I hope the TV series will bring a unique approach to the story. The trailer features some familiar scenes that fans of the film would recognize.
