Snowpiercer Season 3 premiered on January 24, 2022 on TNT, and January 25 on Netflix (outside of US), which is about a year after Season 2 was released.

TNT hasn't announced an official release date for Snowpiercer Season 4 yet, but it should have a similar timeframe. Production for Season 4 started on March 28, 2022, but on July 29, it was reported that production was suspended due to extreme heat.

A spokesperson from TNT said: "Out of an abundance of caution, production of Snowpiercer wrapped early yesterday and was suspended for today due to extreme heat on location. The health and well-being of show cast and crew remains top priority."

TNT and the crew of the show are working on solutions to the heat probelms, with the spokesperson saying that cooling tents for the cast and crew are being provided, while there will be an increased presence of medical personnel on set. They were also informed to be aware of how the heat is affecting them, and let the medical personnel know immediately about any concerns.

With that being said, it's likely that TNT's planned release date for the final season of Snowpiercer will be affected much.

Season 3 concluded with Wilford (Sean Bean) kicked-off the united train and traveling across the globe in a track scaler, a small autonomous vehicle.

Thanks to the work of Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Melanie (Jennifer Connelly), the civil war on the Snowpiercer train has been averted, and the dilemma of what to do about the prospect of finding New Eden - an area of the globe where temperatures might be high enough to sustain life outdoors - is resolved by splitting the train.

This leads to Layon on a one-way mission, leading a group to the Horn of Africa where data suggests there could be higher temperatures, while Melanie circulates around the globe.

Season 3 concluded with Layton leaving the train in meltin conditions - New Eden was real - with a flash-forward to 3-months later where Melanie sees an explosion and rising smoke, only to realize in the closing scene that it's a missile strike.

This sets up the final season of Snowpiercer well while leaving us with unanswered questions. New Eden has been found, and it's likely that the story will focus more on this, but it's still unclear if getting there would be easy. The missile suggests that there will be some kind of battle for this "paradise".

The villainous Wilford is still out there, and he could be behind the missile launch, but the arrival of Melanie will likely lead to the reuniting of Snowpiercer's people to overcome the final obstacle.
