The TV series adaptation of Snowpiercer has been a decent hit for years as it managed to thrill the audience with its action-packed post-apocalyptic story set in a moving train that circles the globe as it is carrying the last remaining human survivors on the planet years after it became a frozen wasteland. However, as it turns out, it looks like the series is now heading its way to its final stop.
Deadline has reported that the upcoming fourth season of Snowpiercer, which is currently in production, is going to be its last one. The decision comes after its network TNT is in the process of scaling back on its original scripted programming. The cast's options were also coming up and not picked up which means that they've been released to do other projects.
"We can confirm that Snowpiercer will end after a successful, multi-season run on TNT," a spokesperson for the network said in a statement. "Its talented writers, actors and crew took an extraordinary premise and brought it to life in thrilling ways. It was critically acclaimed, had a significant impact on the post-apocalyptic genre and now remains in the hearts and minds of fans forever.
While it is unfortunate to hear the show's upcoming seasons will be its last, it looks like the advanced decision that the network made will give them the opportunity to wrap the story of the series and hopefully it's going to be a satisfying conclusion to the thrilling ride that they gave us for the past few years. Having the series last for four seasons is already an impressive achievement for them.
Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Alison Wright, Lena Hall, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Sam Otto, Sheila Vand, Roberto Urbina, Mike O'Malley, Jaylin Fletcher, Rowen Blanchard, Sean Bean, and Chelsea Harris are returning in the final season. They are joined by Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov. Paul Zbyszewski was tapped to be the new showrunner for the season.

There is no release window set yet for the fourth season of Snowpiercer.
