With the OVA's release in Japan just less than a week away, Slime Isekai fans will be happy to know that it finally has an international release date. Crunchyroll recently announced that it will stream That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus’ Dream later this month.
This OVA promises to give fans some new content as they wait for the highly anticipated third season which will premiere in the first half of 2024.
Unlike the upcoming season though, this OVA features an original story written by series creator Fuse.
Slime Isekai Is Getting an OVA Ahead of Season 3
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (or TenSura/Slime Isekai as it’s called by fans) is an isekai anime that began in 2018 with the release of the first season.
Since then, the anime has become one of the most popular ongoing isekai titles – impressive given how many anime in the genre are released every season.
Thanks to its popularity, the show has gotten two seasons, each with 24 episodes. TenSura has also gotten various manga and other anime projects.
The show’s second season aired its last episode in September 2021. It took a while, but the show finally got a Season 3 announcement in November 2022.
Fans still must wait some more though, as this season will premiere in Spring 24.
To make the wait a bit more bearable, an OVA series titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus’ Dream was announced earlier this year.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus' Dream Gets Crunchyroll Release Date
Similar to the Scarlet Bond movie that was released last year, this new OVA will feature an original story that’s not in the light novel. Fans won’t have to worry about its quality as the story is written by series creator Fuse.
The OVA will have three episodes, and it was initially confirmed to be released in Japan on November 1, 2023. At the time though, there was no word on international release plans.
Finally, Crunchyroll revealed that it will stream the OVA. To go along with the announcement, Crunchyroll shared this English-subbed trailer:
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus' Dream will be released on Crunchyroll on October 31, 2023. It’s expected that all three episodes will be made available on that day.
The OVA will be available on the platform in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
