Sinestro Corps War Rumored For HBO Max Green Lantern Series

Last year, WarnerMedia revealed that it was working on a brand new Green Lantern television series to air exclusively on its streaming service, HBO Max. The news surprised fans – no one was really expecting to get a Green Lantern live-action series from DC so soon.

Now, new reports say that the Sinestro Corps War may be a part of the upcoming DC television series.

According to Cosmic Book News, rumor has it that Greg Berlanti is set to adapt the popular Sinestro Corps War comic book story in HBO Max's Green Lantern series. Berlanti wrote a script for the 2011 Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds, however, the script was "mutilated by the studio," during production.

Berlanti's version of the Sinestro Corps War is reportedly going to feature John Stewart, Hal Jordan, and Kyle Rayner as the Green Lantern series human Leads.

Right now we can't be sure who's going to play the Green Lantern heroes in the series, though there are some that are hoping that David Ramsey is going to become John Stewart in the HBO Max series.

Reports say that Berlanti's "love for the franchise will see full bloom with his untainted vision" in the new series which will enjoy a "superior budget and serious tone" with the writer adapting the Sinestro Corps War comic book event.

News about the Sinestro Corps War shouldn't really surprise fans. Last month, the head of HBO Max Original Content Sarah Aubrey confirmed that Sinestro would be part of the Green Lantern series.

"It's going to span several decades [focusing] on two stories about Green Lanterns on Earth [as well as one in space] going into the Sinestro story," Aubrey revealed.

Let's wait and see whether DC makes the Sinestro Corps War announcement.
