We're finally getting some updates on Sony's upcoming TV series Silk. The Spider-Man spin-off show, which will focus on Cindy Moon, has now revealed some interesting casting details. In addition to that, the episode count and release date of the upcoming series has been revealed.

The Illuminerdi confirms that Sony is still looking for a female actress to play Cindy, the Korean-American heroine who is bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker. The studio is reportedly looking for someone "between the ages of 19-29 years" to play the character.

The report also describes Cindy as "an indomitable spirit who can't help but care" as well as "smart, self-assured, funny but trying to please everyone," and having a "predilection for extreme empathy."

Interestingly, the intel even shares some details about Cindy's backstory, stating that she had "spent time abroad doing field research in remote isolation before returning home to discover her family has disappeared" and that "her main motivation will be to find them." This could mean that Cindy's origin story will be different from the comics.

For now, it looks like Sony has not yet found an actress to play Cindy. However, the most exciting update about the series is the episode count and release date. According to the source, the Silk series will consist of eight episodes. It is expected to begin production in Fall this year and will be set for release in February 2022.
