What Happened in Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Episode 3?

The episode begins with Inuzuka giving Izumi two complimentary movie tickets. As much as Inuzuka wants to use them, he doesn’t have a chance to because of his part-time work. Izumi's good friend, Inuzuka, hints at a chance for a movie date between him and Shikimori. As a result, Izumi invites Shikimori out for a movie date after the latter has been giving eyes to the conversation between them.

Izumi develops his battle plan the night before their movie date by thinking about their prior dates. As it turns out, Izumi and Shikimori are always in a bad predicament as a result of Izumi's bad luck. Izumi couldn't handle it any longer, so he packs umbrellas, towels, and water bottles, as well as tied his wallet with a string. Izumi's backpack, however, snaps before he can meet Shikimori in the morning.

Shikimori, on the other hand, is reading various women's magazines and is concerned about her appearance, hairstyle, and her face. She tries on several styles and outfits in order to cater to Izumi's tastes. In the midst of this, Shikimori's brother, Fuji, walks into the room and starts asking about his sister's antics. At that end, Shikimori gets shy as she turns her brother's attention away from her room.

Moving forward, Izumi prepares ahead of time so that they do not miss their rendezvous. He doesn't want Shikimori to wait for him this time since he wants their date to be flawless. Shikimori, on the other hand, is there waiting for him, looking extra gorgeous with her hair up and matching her cute clothing, much to Izumi's happiness.

The couple then heads to the movie theater. While Shikimori asks Izumi to pick the movie she wants to see, Izumi is concerned about her girlfriend's habit of prioritizing him over herself.

With that in mind, Shikimori opts for a horror film starring a clown with a red balloon (an obvious IT movie reference) that has been trending on social networking sites since its release, according to her. In light of this, Izumi believes he will not be terrified because he is comfortable seeing splatter films alone. He even imagines a terrified Shikimori seeking his intervention in the movie theater.

Poor Izumi. He gets really scared and terrified as the movie plays on, to the point that he screams his mouth off in order to not puke in front of Shikimori. As much as he wants to play the strong boyfriend persona, Shikimori comforts him once again as she holds Izumi’s hand throughout the movie.

Izumi then invites Shikimori to an exclusive pancake restaurant. While Shikimori gets concerned with the price, Izumi confidently boasts about how he has been saving up to treat Shikimori. His wallet, on the other hand, does not seem to agree with him. His wallet has been lost yet again, despite the fact that he has strapped it around his waist.

Izumi continues to apologize to Shikimori until they meet Izumi's parents. When Izumi's parents learn of their bad luck, they invite them to a feast at their house, which they both accept. Izumi's mother prepares a feast for the entire family at home, while she and Izumi's father are both ecstatic about Shikimori's visit.

Izumi falls asleep after eating, while Shikimori and the latter's mother have a heart-to-heart talk. Shikimori assures Izumi's mother that she will always be by her son's side to protect him, and she requests Shikimori not to lose patience with her son.
