Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie may be overrated, but the show manages to entertain viewers over time. The plot was repetitive, but there were some enjoyable moments sprinkled throughout.

Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Ending Explained
After a series of events at school, Izumi and Shikimori finally go on a real date. With Izumi's ideal amusement park date, everything is set for the two of them to have a good time.
Shikimori dresses up for their date, wearing a coat and pants. Instead of wearing a cute skirt, she believes she has chosen the right outfit to allow her to move more freely. With this, Izumi is taken aback by Shikimori's cool demeanor when he first sees her.
Before going on rides, Shikimori and Izumi went shopping for animal headbands. However, Shikimori doesn’t really feel like wearing it and instead picks up a skull cloak. In Izumi’s eyes, Shikimori looks like an otherworldly prince. In the end, Izumi ends up wearing a frog headband.
At their first actual stop, Izumi chose to wait in line for the Sleeping Beauty amusement ride. Shikimori and Izumi talk about a variety of topics for 90 minutes. From Shikimori’s cute, cool, competitive, and showy side to Izumi narrating the events of Sleeping Beauty.
While the other couple grew impatient, Shikimori and Izumi relished their time in line. Shikimori and Izumi observed the soothing and relaxing ambiance of the amusement when it was their turn to ride. Surprisingly, Izumi dozed off on the journey back because of the relaxing atmosphere.
Shikimori leans forward to kiss Izumi before the ride ends but is surprised when the closing staff appears. Nonetheless, they had a good time on their first ride.
The odd couple found themselves eating in a fancy restaurant as night fell. Someone had taken Izumi's reservation, but the staff was gracious enough to replace it with an expensive seat overlooking the amusement park.
Their dinner was far superior to their expectations, except that their attire did not match the refined ambiance of the restaurant. In any case, Shikimori and Izumi had a good time teasing each other over dinner.
Shikimori and Izumi take a gondola ride before their date ends. While Shikimori wishes to recreate the kissing scene from the amusement park commercial, Izumi was quick to notice Shikimori's advances.
Before Izumi realizes it, the two of them are alone in the gondola. The power went out as the pressure seeped into Izumi's nerves. To make things better, Shikimori told Izumi that this was all a dream for her.
Izumi decided to tell Shikimori how much he loves her because of how things are going between them. He also promised she would not be abandoned. Shikimori kisses Izumi's hand while the latter kisses her cheeks in the heat of the moment.
Shikimori and Izumi return to school the next morning, where they are both confronted by Hachimitsu, Inuzuka, and Nekozaki. While it was only a kiss on the cheek, Shikimori and Izumi's relationship was flourishing.
In the post-credits scene, Shikimori is waiting for Izumi at their usual meetup spot on the way to school. Shikimori jumped and kicked the soda can straight to the trash bin before it flew into Izumi's face.
Izumi's eyes sparkle with admiration for Shikimori's coolness, as they always do. In Izumi's eyes, Shikimori is not only cute, but she is also cool!
