There's no denying that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is Marvel Studios' most polarizing project to date but despite all the hate thrown at the Tatiana Maslany-led series, it still has its redeeming qualities and one of them is Madisynn King, played by MCU newbie Patty Guggenheim who quickly won fans and even the show's biggest critics over after appearing in Episode 4.

Well, it turns out that Marvel Studios was initially hesitant about casting Guggenheim who was a relative unknown in Hollywood. It was director Kat Coiro who pushed for her to become part of the series as the two go way back and surprisingly, she ended up becoming one of the highlights of the divisive MCU project.

Speaking with ComicBook, Coiro explains: "I have worked with Patty so many times, and when I brought her up for Madisynn, there was a little bit of resistance, because nobody knew who she was, and I said, 'Guys, just let her audition,' and she came in and auditioned and everybody was in tears. And the thing about Patty Guggenheim is that she's able to play these ridiculous characters with so much grounding, and these characters who maybe don't appear very smart with so much intelligence."

Coiro added that the Madisynn hype is enough to warrant the actress her own MCU movie and frankly, we totally agree. She said: "Um, so I kind of have been waiting for this moment to launch Patty for many, many years, and so it's like, 'Okay, the rest of the world has caught up. Now let's please give her her own movie.'"

Marvel's apparent doubt might have led to Madisynn only being given a one-off show in the series but they're probably regretting it now because the character has become extremely popular, even Guggenheim herself is overwhelmed by it. Hopefully, we haven't seen the last of Madisynn because she definitely brings a lot of fun to the franchise.

All episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are available to stream on Disney+.
