She-Hulk Director Breaks Silence on Wong's Surprising Job History Revelation

There's no doubt that Disney+'s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law had already defied all the expectations in terms of comicness. Featuring Tatiana Maslany as the titular heroine, the latest series is the only Disney+ show that featured fan-beloved MCU characters like Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth), and the MCU's Sorcerer Supreme, Wong (Benedict Wong).

Wong made an appearance during Episode 3 serving as a witness to Emil Blonsky's parole hearing, with some laughable moments alongside Jennifer Walters. However, there was one small detail that completely shocked the fans after a sequence accidentally revealed the Sorcerer Supreme's employment history, which included a term working at Target.

Now, in a recent interview with TheDirect, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law writer Jessica Gao breaks down how Wong's Target Easter Egg made it into the third episode of the Disney+ series.

Gao admitted that Wong's LinkedIn profile was the graphics team's idea, while also giving them full credit for putting "a lot of little funny jokes and bits." See Gao's full quote below:

“That I actually have to give credit to our graphics team. And I may be mistaken but, probably Olney Atwell is the one that came up with that. I mean our graphics team actually… really paid attention to details and put in a lot of little funny jokes and bits that were really, really wonderful. But, we all just had such a laugh just imagining Wong, first of all, having a LinkedIn profile and having to put a work history. Any work history that ends with Sorcerer Supreme is automatically chef’s kiss… I love this era of Wong discovering and exploring American pop culture.”

In just three episodes, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law unquestionably brought another layer of comedy into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just when we thought Megan Thee Stallion's cameo and the X-Men reference were more than enough to add enjoyment, these tiny details like Wong's surprising employment history suggest that more hidden surprises are waiting for the fans.
