Shazam! Officially Wraps Filming

Aquaman may be the only DCEU movie coming out this year, but DC plans on making a comeback in 2019. One of their films slated for a release next year will be Shazam! and director David F. Sandberg has confirmed that the movie has officially wrapped production.

With the DCEU usually on the dark side of the genre, Shazam! promises to be more of a comedic romp, and has been described as Big with Superman. Zachary Levi is set to play Captain Marvel in this film, and the villain Doctor Sivana will be played by comic book movie veteran Mark Strong.

Besides all that, there have been rumors going around that Henry Cavill's Superman will be making a cameo appearance, but my guess is it will either be a mid-credits scene or snippets from new stories or papers. What are the odds that it was Billy Batson taking that video in the beginning of Justice League?

With Shazam! being more of the obscure characters in DC, a lot of fans are still happy that he is finally getting some attention onscreen. Though the movies haven't been homeruns, a lot of fans agree that one thing the DCEU gets right is casting its heroes; for the villains, not so much.

Shazam! is aiming for a release on April 5, 2019.
