Shazam! Had A Huge Joker And Harley Quinn Easter Egg You Might Have Missed

There is little doubt that Shazam! is the one DC Extended Universe film that simply delights at the idea of the other superheroes. After all, Freddy Freeman adores everything about these powerful beings and collects just about anything he can get his hands on (Batman's batarang, a bullet that bounced off Superman, numerous superhero logo T-shirts). However, there was also a clear reference to Joker and Harley Quinn in the film but it may have been missed by most viewers.

Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

In Shazam!, Freddy decides to test Billy Batson's superpowers through a battery of tests. They immediately figure a few abilities out but Freddy believes there could be so much more. To investigate further, the two decide to skip class and head for an abandoned warehouse somewhere in Philadelphia. The hilarious montage results in Billy doing the floss, punching through concrete walls, and being set on fire (it's OK, he's fireproof).

So what's so interesting about this scene? At one point, you will be able to spot the logo for ACE Chemicals, the same company that owned a vat of bleach that transformed a normal man into the Joker. Although this isn't the same ACE Chemicals warehouse where Joker took a terrible dip in DC lore, it's the same one you saw in Suicide Squad.

According to ScreenRant, the building used for the Shazam! sequence is the same one that director David Ayer used for the Harley Quinn transformation scene in Suicide Squad. Although it is unclear if David F. Sandberg intentionally chose to shoot in the same location, it's still a cool Easter Egg that brings ACE Chemicals back into DCEU.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the ACE Chemicals logo when you watch Shazam! The movie is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
