Shazam! Director Shares Mash-Up Trailer with Dumbo

It's no secret that Shazam! is going to be a comedy film, and it wouldn't be surprising that director David F. Sandberg has a sense of humor as well. With the movie having a close release date with Disney's Dumbo, Sandberg shares this fun mash-up trailer of both films.

Check it out:

It's just a silly edit where the kids in the Dumbo trailer try to get Dumbo to fly, but instead of a baby elephant, it's Shazam who is trying to figure out the power of flight. The footage used was something that was just recently dropped. Who would have thought it would work so well with the Dumbo promo?

For now, the box office is bracing itself for the release of Captain Marvel tomorrow. The movie is going to be a huge milestone for Marvel, being the first to center on a woman, but it has been frequently compared to Shazam!. After all, Shazam is the original Captain Marvel in the comics. Lucky Marvel for getting to trademark the name before DC could. You wouldn't expect less from a studio with "Marvel" right in the name.

With Aquaman being such a huge success, everyone is excited to see more of the DCEU in the future. Let's all hope that Shazam! delivers and isn't another stumble for WB.

Billy Batson is a streetwise 14-year-old who can magically transform into the adult superhero Shazam simply by shouting out one word. His newfound powers soon get put to the test when he squares off against the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Shazam! comes out April 5.
