WB had admittedly been skimping on the Shazam! preview, but audiences are still excited to see a new hero coming to the DCEU. We haven't gotten a full trailer since last July, but we've been getting a lot of promos. A new poster has Shazam doing finger guns with electricity zapping out of his hands.

While the DCEU started out dark, Shazam! seeks to subvert expectations by being the first action-comedy of DC. Aquaman sure had its share of jokes and humor, but I think that dial will be going all the way up to 11 when it comes to Billy Batson and his first film.
With the movie being contended with the MCU's Captain Marvel, I have a feeling that our new trailer for Shazam! is going to come out once CM hits theaters. A new trailer was promised to us by the New Year, but so far we've only got some short teasers for the movie. With Shazam! so close to release, I don't know if WB can afford to just give us short clips without showing us anything new.
If anything, it's kind of a double-edged sword for me. For one, I'm happy we don't get to see much of the movie, that way a lot of things are fresh when we see them in the theaters for the first time. Then again, withholding the trailer isn't really going to get anyone excited to line up in the cinemas. If Solo: A Star Wars Story taught us anything, marketing is absolutely essential for a film's success, no matter how popular the franchise.
Hopefully, we get that trailer soon. If not, then DC better be hiding something up their sleeve to get everyone pumped for Shazam!.
