Shazam! Director Assures Fans Nothing Fishy is Going on With the Reshoots

Given WB's history with meddling with the DCEU films, a lot of fans have gotten worried when it was reported that Shazam! was going to undergo an extended month of reshoots. Fans took to Twitter assuming the worst, but director David F. Sandberg assures them that everything is going to be fine.

When asked by a fan on Twitter if the studio has decided to meddle once more with Shazam!, Sandberg replied with:

Of course, it's very likely that Sandberg is not allowed to talk about any studio meddling, but for now, I just want to remain positive and think that this is all turning out fine. If anything, these extended reshoots could make room for Henry Cavill making his cameo as Superman. It was initially said that he wouldn't be able to make it because of scheduling conflicts. Now with reshoots going up to late December, maybe he has one day or two to take off from The Witcher and reprise Clark Kent.

For now, the DCEU's return is resting on the shoulders of Aquaman, but I have to say I'm kind of more excited for Shazam!. With the DCEU trying to get out of its cinematic funk, it would be refreshing to see an all-new hero that we haven't seen onscreen before.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's case, by shouting out one word - SHAZAM! - this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam.

Shazam! is set to come out April 5, 2019.
