Shazam! 2 Star Reveals Which Famous DC Villains He Can Beat in a Fight

With the sequel almost a week out in the theaters, Shazam! Fury of the Gods takes place some years after the events of Shazam! and shows the teenage heroes continuing to battle crime after successfully fighting Dr. Sivana. When a new threat appears, the Daughters of Atlas, with their sights set on Billy and his family, must band together to destroy them and preserve the world. Given the show's current performance at the box office, there are no confirmed details yet on whether the narrative will continue for a third movie, but one of the film's stars, Adam Brody, shared two well-known DC villains that he'd like to face in the future.

Brody plays the adult superhero version of Freddie Freeman and in his latest interview with Screen Rant, the actor names the DC villains he thinks the Shazam family should fight. “DC phase 17. I feel like we're gonna be up against maybe Lobo, or somebody dark and crazy that juxtaposes very nicely with the youthful naïveté and innocence of Shazam. Who's the most corrupt son of a bitch in the DC universe? Maybe us and Shazam and Todd Phillips' Joker 3.” he said.

The Joker is a visionary answer due to how different in tone and style he is from Shazam's abilities, but Lobo could be a wonderful nemesis for the DC hero because Lobo is a space mercenary and bounty hunter who has already fought Superman, which might provide a fascinating new tone to Shazam, as well as the mystery of who hired Lobo. Shazam is linked to DC's magic and Greek mythology, but Lobo might be the perfect way to integrate the character into the DC Universe's more cosmic side.

The Shazam family has already fought two very powerful villains, but Brody's answer raises the stakes for the DCU and contrasts the team leader's simplicity in refusing to take on their powers. In other words, Lobo and Joker would be intimidating for the family to face. However, they really had the guts; who knows what twist could turn up in the narrative?

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is now playing in cinemas.
