Shang-Chi Director Shares Reaction To [SPOILERS] Reunion in Mid-Credits Scene

If you have finally watched Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings in the theaters, there's a good chance you're still blown away by the mid-credits scene. After all, the brief sequence brought in two important characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what was it like filming that awesome cameo? Destin Daniel Cretton has shared his reaction to being reunited with a frequent collaborator.

In the Shang-Chi mid-credits scene, Wong takes Shang and Katy to the Sanctum Sanctorum where they meet with Bruce Banner and Carol Danvers. The two Avengers share interesting findings on the ten rings and it is revealed that the weapon has been sending a signal.

Naturally, fans were delighted to see Banner and Captain Marvel in the film. Interestingly, Cretton himself was thrilled to reunite with Larson whom he had worked with in all of his movies except his directorial debut. The filmmaker admitted he was initially stoked to see Larson again but things got even better when they got to the set.

"When she showed up, and I went and said hi to her in her trailer, and we caught up a bit because I hadn't seen her in a while, and then I went to set. We got everything ready for her, and then she stepped onto the set as Captain Marvel, and that's the first time I've ever seen her in that costume up close, and it was super surreal," Cretton said during the Phase Zeropodcast, adding that he and Larson just started laughing.

It's easy to understand their reaction. After all, the two started out working on smaller projects together and now they are working on a major production for Marvel Studios. Needless to say, we'd all be laughing in this situation and we're glad they had fun working the MCU flick.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings stars Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Tony Leung. The film is now screening in theaters.
