Netflix has dropped Shadow and Bone Season 2 trailer at the streaming giant’s global fan event Tudum on Saturday, October 24.
The clip gives fans a first look at the new and returning characters, including Jessie Mei Li as Alina. In fact, the lead star even made a declaration in Shadow and Bone Season 2.
Shadow and Bone Season 2’s New and Returning Characters
“I’m a Sun Summoner,” Alina declared in the clip.
Aside from Aline, Mal (Archie Renaux) and more are seen preparing for their epic fight against Kirigan (Ben Barnes), aka Darkling.
The trailer gives everyone a glimpse of the new cast members, like Jack Wolfe as Wylan Hendriks and Patrick Gibson as Nikolai Lantsov, the son of Ravkan king Alexander III, per TVLine.
Anna Leong Brophy also joins Shadow and Bone Season 2 as Tamar Kir-Bataar and Lewis Tan as Tolya Yul-Bataar, Tamar’s twin brother and another Heartrender.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 Trailer
In one shot, Nikolai (Patrick Gibson) is seen, along with Tolya (Lewis Tan) and another man carrying the light and walking through the flood tunnel.
This tunnel is believed to be the secret tunnel that will lead to the underground, as seen in the book. It’s part of the series of tunnels and caverns that lead to White Cathedral, a huge underground cavern, ScreenRant noted.
This place is Alina and her followers’ safe haven, keeping them undetected by Darkling and his shadow creatures. However, this cavern will eventually turn into a prison in the future.
However, as the place’s shot is incredibly fast, there’s a possibility that it isn’t the tunnel that leads into the White Cathedral.
But given that this part is teased in the new Shadow and Bone Season 2 trailer, it may play a major part in the new season.
This also means that Apparat (Kevin Eldon) will have a bigger part in the second season, just like in the books.
Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of Shadow and Bone Season 2, but it’s expected to be out in 2023.
