The show has met several main cast exits after members express their interest in leaving the show.
Simone Ashley, Tanya Reynolds, and Patricia Allison will not return to the new season, along with Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa, who will be the next Doctor in Doctor Who Season 14.

If Sex Education will indeed end or be canceled, the actors have no reason to announce their departures.
Hence, with their announcements, there’s a possibility that the show would receive a fifth-season renewal.

Despite several character exits, Sex Education Season 4 will still see the return of some of the fan-favorite characters.
Of course, Asa Butterfield returns to reprise his role as Otis. He will be joined by Connor Swindells, Alistair Petrie, Kedar Williams-Stirling, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezedu, Dua Saleh, Mimi Keene, and Samantha Spiro.
