According to Productionlist.com, Sex Education Season 4 will begin filming in London on July 4, 2022. The listing also confirms that the new season will be directed by Runyararo Mapfumo and Ben Taylor, and the script will be written by Laurie Nunn. Jamie Campbell, Joel Wilson, and Jon Jennings will serve as producers.

The news comes months after the show was renewed by Netflix. Actress Gillian Anderson shared the news about the show's renewal last September:

Of course, fans are excited to find out if Otis (played by Asa Butterfield) will ultimately end up with Maeve (Emma Mackey) or Ruby (Mimi Keene). What about the rest of the students of Moordale High after the school is forced to shut down?

The production summary for Sex Education Season 4 reads:

Meet Otis Thompson – a socially awkward high school virgin who lives with his mother, a sex therapist. Surrounded by manuals, videos and tediously open conversations about sex, Otis is a reluctant expert on the subject. When his home life is revealed at school, Otis realizes that he can use his specialist knowledge to gain status.

For now, it's still unclear when production is expected to wrap up, but if Season 4's production should take less time than Season 3's since most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.

Netflix hasn't announced an official release date for Sex Education Season 4, but expect it to arrive by 2023. Just like previous seasons, the fourth season will likely consist of 8 new episodes. You can read more details about the upcoming season here.
