Seth Rogen Shares Promising Update on The Boys Spinoff Shows

Following the success of the hit Prime Video series The Boys, Amazon started to expand the show's franchise with spinoff projects such as the animated anthology series Diabolical which premiered earlier this year, and the college-set Gen V which is set to premiere next year after they recently wrapped its filming.

So what are the latest updates on both spinoff projects, particularly Diabolical which still hasn't been renewed for a second season despite its success and receiving an Emmy nomination? However, it looks like we should still hold our breath according to a new update.

Seth Rogen, who serves as one of the executive producers of The Boys and its spinoff shows, shared some updates on the latest status of the two aforementioned projects in a recent interview with Collider. He revealed that they are already working on the scripts for the second season of Diabolical even though it hasn't been renewed yet.

"I hope Diabolical comes back. Actually, they bought some scripts for the next season, so we've been writing them. We're not 100% sure they will produce them, but if everything goes as planned, they will produce the scripts that we are writing right now," he said.

Regarding Gen V, Rogen shared his reaction to seeing some of the footage that they've seen from the series where he called them "insane" as well as shocked at some of the directions that they went.

"I've been starting to see episodes of, and it's completely insane. Just like the combination of superheroes in a college setting, in an incredibly subversive R-rated world is, yeah. There are parts of that show where me and Evan [Goldberg] are watching the cuts of the sequences that were just like, 'Dear God, what are they doing over there?'," he revealed.

It is great to hear that the team behind The Boys is going full force on their spinoff projects and it sounds like Gen V will deliver the same quality and entertainment that we got from the parent series. As for Diabolical, hopefully, they will be able to do a second season since there are more interesting stories that they can tell in that universe.
