Seo Ye Ji’s New K-drama Earns Higher Viewership Record

Eve is a 2022 romance-revenge drama about a chaebol’s billion-worth of divorce lawsuit that surprises the whole nation. Little did the public know, that Seo Ye Ji’s character has plotted the lawsuit for 13 years as part of her revenge scheme.

In comparison, its first episode earned 3.644 percent, successfully following its predecessor, The Killer’s Shopping List, which achieved a 3.688 percent score.

The Korea Media Rating Board gave the episode a 19+ rating which forbids people under 19 years old (Korean age) to watch a specific flick.

Eve Received Mixed Reviews

Aside from the 19+ episode, Eve found itself in hot waters after the characters’ age gap sparked debate.

Viewers claimed that the age gap between Seo Ye Ji and Park Byung Eun made the K-drama uncomfortable to be watched. Meanwhile, others said nothing was wrong with it.

For what it’s worth, Eve episode 1 already showed Seo Ye Ji’s character (28 year old) seducing Park Byung Eun’s character (41-year-old) to take revenge. With that, the 13 years of age gap truly bothered most viewers.

Eve has not addressed the controversy, yet, but the K-drama is expected to soar higher in the following weeks.
