Before having that toned and lean physique, Seo In Guk used to be on the overweight side.
Unfortunately, because of his appearance, he experienced rejection from auditions and agencies.
Seo In Guk Suffered from Bulimia
In his previous interview with Korea JoongAng Daily in 2012, the Doom at Your Service star was told that he needs to lose weight.
As obtained by Tatler Asia, judges at JYP Entertainment warned him about his weight and it caused him health issues, revealing that he suffered from bulimia.
“From that point onward, I became obsessed with weight loss. After every meal, I’d vomit so that I could lose weight,” he shared.
After reaching his goal weight, he returned to the agency to audition but was rejected, saying that e his “singing had worsened.”
It might be because of his damaged vocal cords because of excessive vomiting.
Fortunately, Seo In Guk managed to bag the grand prize at Superstar K.

Seo In Guk Workout and Diet
Interestingly, winning the talent competition is the start of Seo In Guk’s popularity in the entertainment industry.
In 2013, he appeared as one of the guests in KBS2 Happy Together, where he spoke about his weight loss.
At the time, he had an upcoming movie, No Breathing, where he played swimming prodigy Jo Won Il.
In preparation for the sports theme movie, Seo In Guk shed 11 kgs and would often workout.
“I don’t have a nice body line by nature. When I first started training, I weighed 76-78 kilograms,” he said.
Besides his regular exercise, Seo In Guk also follows a strict diet.
As obtained by Soompi, he revealed his diet plan, which includes fruits and vegetables.
“In the morning I had an apple, my lunch was a simple vegetable salad,” he said; as for the evening, he would have “cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and tofu.”
Seo In Guk followed this strict diet plan for six months and his weight went down to 65 kilograms, noting that he feels “lighter than ever before.”
