The South Korean heartthrob is making his Kdrama comeback, a year after headlining the hit series Doom at Your Service with Park Bo Young.
For his small-screen return, Seo In Guk’s new drama is the comedy mystery series Café Minamdang, mesmerizing viewers with his on-screen chemistry with Oh Yeon Seo.
Besides the duo, KBS2’s Café Minamdang also stars Kwak Shi Yang,Kang Mi Na, Kwon Soo Hyun and more.
Premiering last June 27, the newly released Kdrama is a webtoon-based series that depicts the story of a former criminal profiler, Nam Han Joon, who ends up being a fraudster.
One of his scammers is pretending to be a fortune teller and runs a shop called Minamdang. One of his best tricks is being a smooth talker and his undeniable charm.
Interestingly, Café Minamdang kicks off with a good start as Seo In Guk’s new drama garnered an average nationwide rating of 5.7 percent, which is a close mark to the drama’s predecessor, Bloody Heart with a 6.3 percent nationwide rating.
While KBS2 has a good head start, Seo In Guk, once spoke about his working schedule and admits being a “workaholic.”

While he often portrays rich characters in Kdrama, Seo In Guk lived a tough life and was not born to a wealthy family.
In a report cited by AllKpop, he spoke about his dreams for his mother who raised him and his siblings despite struggling financially.
“I wanted my mother to live comfortably but she insists on working,” he said, as obtained by KBizoom, adding that his mother would often say that “she’d get sick if she does nothing.”
With this, Seo In Guk thinks that he got his trait of being a workaholic because of his mother.
According to the same outlet, the actor’s mother would collect discarded items and sell them to junk shops to make ends meet, and continued this despite her son’s popularity.

Throughout his career, Seo In Guk got involved in various dating rumors. While some of it was true and some were false, the actor remained private, especially with his love life.
However, he once spoke about his ideal type.
In the same report, the Shopping King Louie star likes a woman who has substance and prefers to date “smart over pretty women”
As for age, he says that it is not a big deal for him, in fact, he has been fond of dating older women since junior high school.
Part of it was influenced by his parents, whose mother is seven years older than his father.
