The summer 2024 season is still two months away, but lots of shows are already getting premiere announcements. Among these is Senpai wa Otokonoko, which revealed its July release date alongside more info.
While the recent reveals didn’t come with a new trailer, the show did announce its opening and ending theme artists alongside the specific premiere date and streaming partner.
All You Need to Know about the Senpai wa Otokonoko Anime
Senpai wa Otokonoko is a new anime by Project No. 9, the anime studio behind shows such as Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki, My Tiny Senpai, and A Girl & Her Guard Dog.
This new anime is a school romance that follows Makoto Hanaoka, a high school boy who dresses up as a girl. At school, his classmate Saki Aoi thinks Makoto is a girl and soon confesses her feelings.
Makoto then reveals that he is a boy, though Saki surprisingly doesn’t mind. Soon, a love triangle develops involving another classmate of theirs named Ryuji Taiga.
The anime’s title is a direct reference to the story as otokonoko is a Japanese word used to describe men who express their identity as feminine. Translated, the word means “male daughter.”
