If the rumors are true that Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik had a PDA-packed dinner date in New York, this outing isn’t new at all. Rumors have it these two have dated in the past, so it doesn’t surprise people who know them.
It has been known that Gomez’s BFF, Taylor Swift, dated Harry Styles, a One Direction member, in the past. And this led the alleged new couple to have a romance back then.
Selena Gomez, Zayn Malik Allegedly Dated in the Past
A top music industry source told Page Six that the two hitmakers “had a thing years ago” when Swift and Styles were still dating.

“It doesn’t surprise me at all that they’re potentially together [today],” the insider continued.
Selena Gomez, Zayn Malik’s Dating Rumors
A hostess at the celebrity restaurant Soho set the internet on fire when she revealed she saw Gomez and Malik kiss inside the eatery earlier this month.
Her friend, Klarissa Garcia, then made a TikTok video about it and told Page Six that “no one noticed” the two inside the diner.
“It was pretty public, but … no one really cares about famous people in New York,” she said.

Allegedly, the two famous singers were openly kissing at their table, which happened to be in the middle of the busy café.
The post even featured a screenshot of her conversation with her hostess friend, who told her she seated Gomez and Malik in the text.
“Tell me how Selena Gomez and Zayne [sic] just walked into [blurred out restaurant] hand in hand making out and I seated them,” the talk read.
To add more fuel to the fire, Gomez is one of the only 18 people Malik is following on Instagram.
Gigi Hadid Reportedly Reacts to Selena Gomez, Zayn Malik Dating Rumors
Though neither Gomez nor Malik has confirmed the dating rumors, this will be the first public relationship the British singer will have since his split from Gigi Hadid in October 2021.
The two had an on-again, off-again relationship for seven years and had a daughter, Khai, 2.
Hadid, too, belongs to Swift’s inner circle and has previously hung out with them. Gomez even claimed the supermodel was one of her best friends in an interview during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2015.
But despite these connections, it looks like Hadid doesn’t mind if Malik and Gomez are dating.
A source told Us Weekly she’s happy for her ex to date anyone he pleases as long as he continues prioritizing their daughter.
“Gigi has no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating,” the insider said. “As long as he is happy and stable and continues to be a good co-parent to Khai, she’s fine with whoever he goes out with.”
The tipster added that Hadid has already moved from Malik and is “having fun” with her own love life, being recently linked to the A-list star Leonardo DiCaprio.
